I’m Elle Turner and, before we go any further, I should tell you this:
I’ve lived in Scotland all my life, but don’t seem to have shoes that don’t leak.
As well as my family and writing, my true loves are scones, stationery and packs of playing cards.
If you offer me a 50:50 I will ALWAYS get it wrong.
I pretty much have no sense of direction.
Are you still here? Great! Then let me tell you more.
As well as writing for my business, Emerald and Lime, I write contemporary women’s fiction, helping my characters find their way from stuck where they don’t want to be to their hopeful ever after. I love helping them find a way to get themselves together and get on with a happier life! I’m working on finding an agent and/or publisher for my books, so please keep your fingers crossed for me!
In the meantime, I published this collection of short stories. These stories are a tapestry, exploring the complexities of life and love through what I hope are moving tales, whether happy or less so. I wanted to write stories about love in different guises and took the opportunity to explore the darker, sadder sides of the emotion too, just to see if I could. The collection’s actually called Tapestry and, if you would like to take a look, you can find it here.
In my books my troubled heroines are emotional, unsettled and a little bit crumpled, but they’re intelligent and strong too – most of the time. They are, of course, just as keen to love and be loved as the rest of us. And we are, aren’t we? Although I won’t tell, if you don’t. I think we can keep it under wraps as it’s not a subject that generally comes up. Not in books, films, music, life…
What was that you said?
…Anyway, it’s great to meet you, because writing can be a bit of a solitary business. If I’m not around here, you’ll find me on Emerald and Lime, where I combine my love for writing with my love for stationery. Or why not pop on over to Instagram to join in the story @elleturnerwriter. I’d love to see you there!
